Setting up Defaults for deals

Solution

Default information for a deal can be set up in the sales32 at the working deal screen. This information inputted on this screen is the settings needed by a deal order to calculate the numbers correctly and standard information that is generally the same on all deals. The settings on this screen are:

  • Branch: this is used as a way to categorize different setup layouts that can be used for customers from different states that you would have to use different setting for. The Branch is will normally be set as a states abbreviations, by using the states abbreviation it allows the system to pull in these setting based on the state putting as part of the customers address information. XX can be used as a catch all to pull in a generic set of setting for customers whose state abbreviation does not have a set up in the setup screen in deals.
  • Rate: This allows you to setup a default apr for new deals. The apr can be changed from the finance screen for the deal if needed.
  • Buy Rate: This allows you to setup a default buy rate for new deals. The by rate can be changed after the deal is started from the finance screen for the deal.
  • Pmts: This setting allows you set up a default number of payments for new deals that can be changed if need be on the finance screen of the deal.
  • Warranty: (No Longer Used)
  • Taxed check box next to warranty: When this check box is checked on it tells the program to tax the warranty by the sales tax rate and to include this amount in the sales tax on the deal.
  • Warranty Tax: This allows you set a separate tax rate for warrant that will be taxed separately from the rest of the times being stated by the standard sales tax. If this is used then the taxed check box next to warranty needs to be left unchecked and the total for this tax amount will show up under local/ other tax.
  • Addons: (No longer Used)
  • Taxed check box next to addons: When this check box is checked on it tells the program to tax addons by the sales tax rate and to include this amount as part of the sales tax on the deal.
  • Addons tax: (No longer used)
  • Dayspmt: This allows you set a default days until due amount for new deals.
  • Docfee: This is a default account to be charged as a docfee on new deals.
  • Taxed check box next to Docfee: tells the program to tax the docfee.
  • Tags: Allows you to set a default License fee amount for new deals.
  • Title: Allows you to setup a default title fee amount for new deals.
  • Insurance: (No longer used)
  • Taxed check box next to insurance: Causes the insurance on the deal to be taxed.
  • Insurance Tax: (No longer used)
  • County fee: (No longer used)
  • Finalpmt: (No longer used)
  • Paymnt: (No longer used)
  • Temptag/other: Allows you to setup a default amount for the custom field that is normally call other or temptag on the finance screen. 
  • Check box next to temptag/other: Causes the temptag/other fee to be taxed and included in the sales tax.
  • State Tax: Sets the default sales tax rate.
  • Sales Tax Fee: Set a fee that is added to the sales tax amount.
  • Tax Ceiling: Sets a cap on the amount of sales tax that can be charged on a deal.
  • Trade is taxed Check box: Includes the trade net to be included as part of the sales tax calculation.
  • Local tax: sets a rate for the local tax.
  • Business tax: sets a rate for the business tax.
  • Trailer Tax: Sets a sales tax rate for boat trailers on a deal for a boat that has a trailer that is separate from the sales tax on the rest of the deal.
  • Check box next to trailer tax: includes the boat trailer in the sales tax for the rest of the deal.
